I got twice the service life of standard PRIDE HD640 AGM batts by buying VMAXMB96 AGM Group 22 Deep Cycle Batteries

Got these on sale for only $40 more than the standard batteries that came in my Pride HD 640. The second set of standard AGM batteries gave me eight measured miles for about eight months, and then instantly stopped giving me more than 4 miles to a charge. Both sets were toast out about 12 months, not yielding more then 2 miles a charge which is expected longevity with my use according to technicians. And when they failed out in the street they were dead as a doornail, with only guesstimating idiot lights on the Pride wheelchair giving minimal information. The set of 2 VMAXMB96 AGM Group 22 Deep Cycle Batteries has lasted me two years now and still gives a solid 6 miles range. It should be noted that with these VMAXMB96 batteries, I walked our dog in the year and a half he was with us, for over 1100 miles measured. One of the other great things about these batteries, is that they have bounce. If I am rolling along and lose green power bars on the wheelchairs idiot lights, I can always regain one, two, or three green lights by just stopping for 10 minutes. These batteries have exhibited this bounce back ability the entire time I have owned them. And they meet mill spec to boot, which was how I found them with google fu.

So far so Great!

Second time I have bought these exact same batteries for my mobility scooter. I don't use it daily but very often. The last set lasted almost 5 years. Last ones purchased in 2019. Now 2024. So I'm hoping these do the same.

More Power than my stock batteries

After 23 months the batteries in my power wheelchair wore out. It would run for a little bit then get really slow and indicate the batteries were losing charge despite having an 11 mile claimed range for the chair. I checked for replacement batteries and found three basic classes of battery: 1. Unknown brand batteries for a pretty cheap price 2. Batteries that were exactly like what I had. 3. These batteries which were using the same technology as a mil spec battery that I have on my sidecar motorcycle, the first of which lasted 10 years which is phenomenal for a motorcycle. Generally you get what you pay for in batteries. The cheap ones may have been better than I believed but this chair is not made for pushing so having them fail after a shorter distance than normal was not acceptable. I realize the anticipated life span of wheelchair batteries is 18 months to 24 months and I knew I could expect just that from the exact replacement batteries. But due to the results I had on my motorcycle and the extra 5 amp hours of capacity on these batteries I decided to try them out. I've only had them a few weeks but the performance is noticeably better than the stock batteries. I charged them up, then used the chair for several days without recharging afterwards. There was absolutely no slowdown and the display indicated they were still fully charged. The previous batteries would not have performed this well. I did recharge them fully after my test and I have ordered a battery master switch to disconnect the batteries after charging to prevent parasitic losses from the control computer. I can walk well enough to get around at home, I just can't handle distances, so the chair is idle most of the time but is essential when shopping or other times a lot of walking is required. Leaving the charger on full time is not recommended, and sitting idle allows the computer to discharge them a bit. I'm hoping to achieve the best balance with the switch. These batteries seem to be very well made. They are noticeably heavier than the stock batteries but they fit in the stock space, although it was a bit tight - I had to wiggle the 2nd one a bit to get it to settle down. So short term I am very happy with them. We hope to go to the Smithsonian fairly soon and I'll give them a good range test then. The other facet of battery life will have to play out in the future.

Excellent Quality

These batteries were for a Quantum Edge power chair. They are much better batteries than what came with the chair. The charge is lasting for days instead of 2-3 hours. You can even tell a difference in the amount of power when going up incline. They came with all the hardware needed to install/attach the terminals. Size was perfect as well.

Maybe even 5 star!

Purchased 2 of these batteries to replace 2 flooded cell batteries on our Advance riding sweeper. So far, so good! We are thinking about adding a 3rd one to extend the operating time. They only take up 2/3 the space of the original flooded cell batteries. And the price was right!

Timely delivery, great performance

Arrived on time. Very well packaged. As for the batteries, great performance. I used them for my child's wheelchair (Quantum 600) and so far, after 2 weeks of use great performance
